Today (Tuesday), former Israeli Finance Minister Yair Lapid claimed that schools are not becoming more religion-oriented. “The fear of religion is a panic attack,” Lapid said during a conference. “That stems from a dialogue of it’s either ‘us or them’.”

Lapid added: “The fact that both of my sons completed 12 years of the state education system without anyone bothering to show them a page of Gemara is a terrible failure.”

The Yesh Atid Party Chairman also stated that he doesn’t see a chance of evacuating settlements in the next 10 to 20 years. Lapid added that he supports Education Minister Naftali Bennett’s Jerusalem Law, which states that returning any part of Jerusalem to the Palestinians will require the approval of at least 80 MKs.
