British actor Roger Moore passed away at the age of 89 in Switzerland. Moore was most famous for his role as James Bond.
Today (Tuesday), Sir Roger Moore, the British actor who was most known for his role as James Bond, passed away at the age of 89 as a result of cancer. Moore’s relatives reported that he died in Switzerland after “a short but brave battle” with the disease. The family added that he was ‘surrounded with love in his final days.’
Moore played the role of James Bond longer than any other actor (12 years and 7 movies). “We know our own love and admiration will be magnified many times over,” his family wrote. “By people who knew him for his films, his television shows and his passionate work for UNICEF which he considered to be his greatest achievement.”

The eulogy continued: “The affection our father felt whenever he walked on to a stage or in front of a camera buoyed him hugely and kept him busy working into his 90th year, through to his last appearance in November 2016 on stage at London’s Royal Festival Hall.”

Moore was born in London, England. He was conscripted to the British army at the end of the Second World War. In the early 1950’s, Moore was a model before he immigrated to the US and started his acting career.
