Nazi concentration camp Stutthof in Poland

A former SS Nazi guard was charged 5,230 counts by German courts for being an accessory to murder during the Holocaust. According to the indictment, the defendant was a ”cog of the murder machinery.”

Bruno Dey is 92 years old who worked for 9 months as an SS guard in Nazi Germany’s Stutthof concentration camp, reported the German newspaper Die Welt.

Dey was indicted after he confessed to prosecutors that as a guard he was fully aware of what was happening to the jews inside the camp. He also said that he saw” emaciated figures being pushed into the gas chambers.” During the interrogation, the former Nazi justified himself by saying that if he had not done it than they would have just gotten another person to do it.

Despite his advanced age, he will be tried in Hamburg’s juvenile court because he was only 17 years of age during the war.
