A man rammed his vehicle into a police car, most likely in order to harm police, near Champs Élysée. Nobody was injured except for the terrorist, who was shot and succumbed to his wounds, police said.

French police rushed to Paris’ Champs Élysée on Monday afternoon following a security incident. According to witnesses, police blocked off the area near the Élysée Palace.
On the local police’s Twitter account, the public was asked to stay away from the area. According to the French AFP, a vehicle rammed into a police car in the area. No injuries resulted from the incident.
Shortly afterwards, the police announced that the attacker most likely succumbed to his wounds and the incident is being investigated as a terror attack. The police also said that in the driver’s car, they found many weapons including a Kalashnikov rifle, grenades and Molotov cocktails.
