Winter is still here and that means it’s soup season! Try this tasty French onion soup before the weather warms up.

Winter is a great time to gather around the fireplace along with your loved ones and eat some tasty soup. Before the warm weather returns, Tnuva is inviting you to try one of its favorite recipes: tasty French onion soup.
100 grams of Tnuva butter
2 cups of oil
6 big onions, thinly sliced
3 tbs. flour
1 1/4 cups white dry wine
salt, freshly ground pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg
200 grams of Tnuva’s Cheddar Cheese, grated
In a medium-sized pot, melt the butter and oil together. Add the onion and fry until golden, stirring occasionally to ensure the onion doesn’t char.
Add the flour and mix until the onions absorb the flour. Then, add the wine and cook until it evaporates.
Pour the vegetable broth into the pot and salt and pepper, and bring to boil.
Turn on the oven to a low temperature. Pour the soup into the bowls, place 2-3 slices of baguette on top of each bowl, and sprinkle the cheese generously on top of the baguette.
Bake for several minutes until the cheese melts and becomes brown. Serve hot!
