Several hours after an attempted stabbing near the Louvre museum in Paris, French President François Hollande stated that the attack was of a terrorist nature.
Hollande praised the soldiers who prevented the attack near the famous museum. “This operation undoubtedly prevented an attack whose terrorist nature leaves little doubt,” he stated.
The president made it clear that the situation near the Louvre is “under control” but that the terror threat against his country still stands. He added that the suspect will be investigated as soon as possible.
As reported earlier by JOL, the terrorist, an Egyptian citizen who entered France in January, tried to enter the museum with a big knife while shouting “Allahu Akbar”. A French soldier on duty shot the terrorist who was arrested and transferred to medical care.
