An IDF tank opened fire early this morning (Wednesday) after three suspicious Palestinians were spotted near the security fence in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. It appears that the three were attempting to plant an explosive device near the fence. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that one of them was killed by the Israeli fire and the other two were injured.
According to the Palestinian news agency Ma’an, loud explosions, many gunshots and Israeli Air Force planes were heard early this morning in the area. The IDF confirmed that a tank fired toward the Gaza Strip but did not confirm the report about the fatality.
In recent weeks, the tensions between Israel and Hamas have increased. In the beginning of this week, IDF tanks attacked two Hamas outposts in northern and southern Gaza after a rocket was fired toward Israel. The rocket exploded in an open field. No injuries were reported.
