It is believed that the women were supposed to transfer the explosives to another person who was to visit them in the hospital.

Two Palestinian women from Gaza were caught carrying explosives at the Erez Crossing on Wednesday. They reportedly had travel permits which allowed them to go to Israeli hospitals for cancer treatment.

This incident further confirms claims by Israeli security officials that much of Hamas’ funds are being used for military purposes rather than civilian ones, says Channel 2 News military analyst Roni Daniel.

According to Daniel, this situation has become even more common since Yahya Sinwar took over as the head of Hamas’ military wing earlier this year.
