Today, the mother of late and missing IDF Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, who was kidnapped by Hamas during a ceasefire, spoke at a committee of the UN Security Council and criticized the organization for failing to respond.
Today (Friday), the mother of the late and missing in action IDF Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, whose body is being held by Hamas, spoke in front of a special committee of the UN Security Council in New York.
Lea Goldin spoke about the missing Israelis in Gaza. “On August 1st, 2014, Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire proposal that was jointly brokered by the United Nations and the United States,” Goldin stated. “Less than two hours after Hamas agreed to this ceasefire, it’s terrorists emerged from a tunnel located under the basement of a house in Rafah and ambushed our son Hadar and two other Israeli soldiers.”
“Let’s agree that when Hamas killed my son and kidnapped his body, no war was going on,” she added. “We are not the first Israeli parents to lose a beloved child in combat in defense of our country and sadly, we will not be the last. However, we do suffer a different sort of pain because our son was not a victim of the war in Gaza but a victim of the ceasefire.”
