At around 3:30 PM, gunshots were fired at IDF soldiers who were near the border fence in the Kissufim area. At the moment, no damage or injuries have been reported. Prior to this incident, an IDF tank and Israeli Air Force aircraft attacked several Hamas targets in Gaza in response to a rocket that was fired toward Ashkelon earlier today. A Salafi movement in Gaza claimed responsibility for the rocket fire.

At around 9:00 AM, a red alert rocket siren was sounded throughout the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that the rocket most likely landed in an open field. No damage or injuries were reported. Shortly thereafter, the IDF responded by attacking a Hamas target in northern Gaza.

At around 2:00 PM, the IAF launched four airstrikes, hitting two Hamas bases, an observation post and a building used by the terrorist organization in northern Gaza. “The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization exclusively responsible for what happens in Gaza,” read a statement released by the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit. According to the Palestinians, a man in his 70s was injured in one of the airstrikes. In addition, a few sheep were injured and killed by the IDF’s fire.

According to the Al Mayadeen station in Gaza, the rocket was fired from northern Gaza toward the Ashkelon beach area. Shortly thereafter, Palestinians stated that the IDF responded by destroying a Hamas observation post. Meanwhile, it was reported that a tunnel in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood in central Gaza collapsed, which had nothing to do with the IAF’s airstrikes.
