In a harsh statement coming from the Prime Minister’s most prominent coalition partners, officials in the HaBayit Hayehudi party said the damage caused by Netanyahu’s decision to remove the new security measures on Temple Mount must be fixed with actions, not with words.

HaBayit Hayehudi officials said Friday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “severely harmed Israel’s security” by removing the new security measures on Temple Mount.

“We must stop making concessions and stop rewarding terrorism,” the officials said. “The damage has to be fixed with actions, not with words.”

These harsh statements, coming from one of Netanyahu’s most prominent coalition partners, follows reports that Netanyahu has proposed a land exchange plan with the Palestinians during a recent conversation with US President Donald Trump’s aides.

Netanyahu reportedly proposed that Israel annex the Gush Etzion settlement bloc south of Jerusalem in exchange for the predominantly-Arab area of Wadi Ara.

MK Yousef Jabareen, a resident of Umm al-Fahm, said Netanyahu’s plan is “a double war crime – imposing a transfer on citizens and annexing illegal settlements.”
