On Thursday, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley will present “irrefutable evidence” showing how Iran has intentionally violented the nuclear agreement it signed with the world powers in 2015. US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley will present on Thursday “irrefutable evidence” that shows how Iran has deliberately violated the nuclear deal, according to a statement her office released on Wednesday.
The US Mission to the UN added that the ambassador will also “outline Iran’s ongoing destabilizing activities in the Middle East region and elsewhere in the world” during the press conference, which is set to take place in Washington at 11:30 AM.
On October 13, US President Donald Trump announced the decertification of the deal, which launched a 60-day period for Congress to decide whether to reimpose sanctions. The period ended earlier this week and Congress decided not to reimpose sanctions.
During his speech, Trump also explained his administration’s new four-point strategy to address Iranian aggression. “First, we will work with our allies to counter the regimes destabilizing activity and support for terrorist proxies in the region,” he stated. “Second, we will place additional sanctions on the regime to block their financing of terror. Third, we will address the regime’s proliferation of missiles and weapons that threaten its neighbor’s global trade and freedom of navigation. And finally, we will deny the regime all paths to a nuclear weapon.”
