Two hours before the cease-fire took effect,  Hamas sent a chilling text message to southern Israeli citizens.

Hamas hacked cell networks to send these SMS messages in the past such as; on the 10 years anniversary commemorating the founder and spiritual leader of Hamas, Ahmed Yassin, who was killed in an Israeli air strike. On that day a text message said “We don’t forget the blood of our sheik, We swear again to take revenge, and this time by taking off the head of your leaders.”

The SMS message sent this time reads  “This is a warning to all southerners: you must leave the area and flee immediately. Saraya al-Quds will turn Gaza’s edge into a hell, (signing off as) Saraya al-Quds brigades.”

After the two days of heavy fighting, the IDF estimates that more than 600 rockets were fired by Hamas into southern Israel. Approximately 400 have fallen on uninhabited ground, while the rest managed to reach Israeli cities and towns. The Iron Dome air defense system was able to intercept 86 percent of the ones that reached populated areas.

The IDF has retaliated throughout the conflict by hitting 320 targets in the Gaza Strip. 4 Israelis have died in the conflict, and dozens of people have received medical attention for shrapnel wounds, contusions, and anxiety. 25 Palestinians have been reportedly killed, including 7 high ranked terrorist officers.
