Israeli coalition leader MK David Amsalem slammed Israeli songwriter Yehonatan Geffen for “legitimizing a Palestinian girl, who humiliates and beats soldiers.” Amsalem’s remark comes after Geffen compared 17-year-old terrorist Ahed Tamimi to Anne Frank.

On the Israel News Company’s Friday Studio, Israeli coalition leader MK David Amsalem addressed the storm surrounding famous Israeli songwriter Yehonatan Geffen, who compared 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist Ahed Tamimi to Anne Frank. “Yehonatan Geffen is legitimizing a Palestinian girl, who humiliates and beats soldiers,” Amsalem continued. “Yehonatan Geffen is encouraging the next terrorist who will come and kill soldiers.”

Amsalem then hinted that Geffen was not arrested solely due to his social status. “Where does this self-hatred come from?” Amsalem asked. “I’m sure that if this had been a rabbi in Judea and Samaria, he would’ve been arrested.”

Earlier this week, Geffen posted a picture of Tamimi hitting an IDF officer to his Instagram along with a controversial poem. “A beautiful 17-year-old girl did a terrible thing and when the proud Israeli officer once again invaded her home, she slapped him,” the poem reads. “She was born into it and within that slap were 50 years of occupation and humiliation. And on the day that the story of the struggle is told, Ahed Tamimi, the red head, just as David slapped Goliath, will be in the same line as Joan of Arc, Hannah Szenes and Anne Frank.”
