Israeli Minister of Education Naftali Bennett stated this morning on an Army Radio interview that he would demand the Minister of Defense position in a new coalition: “I don’t plan on pushing Netanyahu out, but if he is Prime Minister again, I will demand the Ministry of Defense. I think it’s essential.”

Bennett further added that he will run for Prime Minister if Netanyahu steps down. “If Netanyahu steps off the stage, I plan on running for the Prime Minister’s role.

Yesterday, Bennett commented on the government crisis. “I am very optimistic and believe that by the start of next week, we will have solved the crisis and will be back to responsibly leading the country,” he said.
