This evening (Tuesday), it was reported that the Israel Police investigated whether or not millionaires gave Sara Netanyahu expensive gifts. This matter is being investigated as part of the probe into the Israeli Prime Minister and according to the suspicions, Sara would join her husband for trips abroad, where millionaires would shower her with expensive gifts.

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit first heard about the suspicions two years ago and instructed Police Major General Meni Yitzhak to examine the matter. No evidence was discovered when the matter was investigated two years ago.

Yesterday, Netanyahu’s former chief of staff Ari Harow, who was also in charge of fundraising for the Prime Minister, was questioned for a second time. Harow provided the police investigators with a great deal of information.

Also yesterday, Netanyahu responded to the ongoing police inquiry into his conduct during a questions session at the Knesset Plenum. When asked about the rumors of money-laundering via a bank account in Panama and whether or not his son Yair had been issued a false passport, Netanyahu called these rumors “absolute rubbish.” Netanyahu added that the latest rumors are baseless just like all previous attempts to smear his name.
