Israel’s former Prime Minister Ehud Barak warned on Thursday that the Israeli public, as well as top security officials, might rebel if the government continues to push for a one-state reality.
Speaking at an agriculture festival in the Jordan Valley, Barak said the policy of the current government is leading Israel towards becoming a binational state.
If the government attempts to implement the “one-state agenda,” Barak said, the Supreme Court will rule it unconstitutional and it will trigger a massive public outcry as well as disobedience from Shin Bet and IDF officials.
“This government is leading an agenda of extreme nationalism, which is replacing that of Zionism and healthy nationalism,” he added.
