It has been reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sent a letter to the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, in which he expressed his support for the right of the Palestinians claims to an independent state.

The letter was transferred to the Palestinian Authority by the North Korean ambassador in Cairo, Du Hui, during a meeting with the Palestinian ambassador to Egypt.

According to the Palestinian press, Kim Jong Un wrote in the letter that he ”welcomes the efforts of the Palestinians to achieve the legitimate rights and especially their right to establish an independent state, with Jerusalem as their capital.”

The letter was sent to Abbas in response to a letter sent by the President of the Palestinian Authority congratulating the totalitarian leader and North Korean envoy, Kim Jong Un, on the occasion of the National Day of North Korea.

In that letter, the PA president said that the Korean people made “the greatest sacrifices for the sake of its freedom and dignity,”

He also expressed appreciation for “Korea’s solidarity in support of our people’s rights and its just struggle to end the occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital.”

Abbas also wished Kim “health and happiness” and the Korean people “more stability and prosperity.”
