Jared Kushner, adviser and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, referred to the cessation of financial aid to Palestinians by saying that “Palestinian leaders deserve to lose American aid because they vilify the government.

The statement was made in an exclusive interview with The New York Times.

Jared Kushner said he was optimistic that the Palestinians would want to engage in talks with the United States: “In all the negotiations I’ve had, before someone said yes, the answer was ‘no’.”

If the Palestinians continue to defy the repeated requests of the United States to sit at the negotiating tables, they will face new sanctions and will lose even more of their rights in any future peace talks.
