Avi Gabbay, the leader of the left-wing Labor party, said on Tuesday Israel should allow Palestinians from Gaza to work in Israel as part of a deal to bring back the Israelis held captive by Hamas.

“I believe there should be zero tolerance for anyone who threatens Israel,” Gabbay said during a visit to Israeli towns along the Gaza border, “but I also believe in a policy that gives hope for a better life to the other side as well.”

Gabbay also criticized the current government and said it cares more about the political survival of its leaders than the Israeli public.
