Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday the multiple investigations surrounding him have not affected the level of support he gets from the majority of the Israeli public.

Speaking with Israeli reporters in New York just before flying back to Israel, Netanyahu said, “We are being attacked constantly, every hour, every minute. … I will not shut up. I’ll tell the truth. I’ll tell you the truth that some people may not like to hear: there’s admiration from the public, for me, for my wife and my family.”

Earlier on Thursday, Netanyahu met with Nikki Haley, the American UN Ambassador, and thanked her for her support of Israel. “I wanted to tell you how much we appreciate … the truth that the President and you bring into these cloistered halls that are so damp … with anti-Israel venom,” Netanyahu told Haley. “It’s not a breath of fresh air, it’s a tsunami of fresh air.”

“It was just abusive before,” Haley replied, “but it’s actually starting to get a little bit better.” She added that she feels bad for Israel’s UN Ambassador, Danny Danon, for “what he’s had to put up with.”

Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, visited an exhibit at the UN marking 3,000 years of Jewish history in Jerusalem. “There is a long history that is being cherished by us and by friends of the Jewish people, and the friends of truth,” Netanyahu said. “It is being denied by those who seek to erase the history of our people, our connection to our land, and our connection to our eternal capital Jerusalem.”
