Throughout Israel today, Purim celebrations and parades are being held. In Hebron, hundreds of people gathered for the annual holiday parade that is being held at the exact place where the Elor Azaria affair began a year ago. Right-wing activists joined the Hebron residents in order to show their support for Azaria.

Hours before last year’s Purim parade in Hebron, two terrorists carried out a stabbing attack in the city that ended with the Hebron shooting incident. Today (Sunday), the parade was once again held in Hebron and no security incidents were reported. As part of the holiday festivities, right-wing activists who support IDF soldier Elor Azaria, who was convicted of manslaughter for fatally shooting one of the terrorists when he was neutralized, gathered at the exact spot where the incident occurred.
Right-wing activist Baruch Marzel arrived at the parade wearing a shirt that reads: “The justice will come to light when Elor is free.” “We call this intersection the Elor Intersection,” said Marzel. “Ever since the incident, there has been peace here. Thanks to Elor, there’s peace throughout the country.” Lawyer Itamar Ben-Gvir stood next to Marzel. Ben-Gvir was dressed up as Azaria himself with a picture of the soldier pinned to his military uniform.
“We are waiting for a leader in this country to stand up and put the media in its place and give a medal to every Elor Azaria out there, those who want to continue what Elor started and kill all the terrorists,” Ben-Zion Gopstein stated.
