Hezbollah and Mexican Cartels Tied by The Hip

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday designated Hezbollah and four other criminal groups as the main transnational threats of organized crime.

Sessions said that eradicating the Mara Salvatrucha and three other of Mexico’s drug cartels, the Sinaloa Cartel, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and the Gulf Cartel, will be a priority for the enforcement of U.S. federal law, on par with Hezbollah, that the US considers a terrorist organization.

This task force will be led will be led and composed of members of Hezbollah’s Narco-terrorism and Financing Team, which is a group created in January also by the Department of Justice.

This team is comprised of experienced international prosecutors in narcotics trafficking, terrorism, organized crime and money laundering who are tasked with investigating individuals and networks that support Hezbollah.
