Hezbollah has reported seeing ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the Syrian town of Albu Kamal, which was retaken from ISIS earlier this week by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s military. The report was not confirmed by any official source.
On Wednesday, a commander in the military alliance supporting the Syrian regime said the Syrian forces and their allies had captured Albu Kamal, ISIS’ last stronghold in the country.
The commander told Reuters that Hezbollah was the main force in the battle for Albu Kamal, adding that Iraqi forces and Iranian-backed forces took part as well.
