A young man who was part of a group of hikers on a rock climbing trip in Timna Valley fell 15 meters and was moderately injured. Many rescue units were rushed to the site to provide him with medical treatment. He was eventually evacuated via helicopter to a hospital.

Teams from the Israel Fire and Rescue Services and Israel Police evacuated a hiker who fell 15 meters today (Friday) to a hospital. The hiker fell down while climbing a wall north of Eilat in the area of King Solomon’s Pillars in the Timna Valley. He suffered moderate injuries and was evacuated via helicopter to a hospital in Be’er Sheva.
The hiker was in the middle of a rock climbing trip along with a group of other climbers. He fell down while climbing the first out of three segments of the wall. Also, it appears he was not wearing a helmet.
