In several countries around the world, Hizb ut-Tahrir has been outlawed. However, the organization is operating and thriving in East Jerusalem. In light of a Channel 2 News report that showed how the organization is inciting hatred and violence against Jews, a Likud MK requested that the Israel Police investigate the organization’s activities.
In Germany, Turkey and other countries in the world, Hizb ut-Tahrir, an Islamic organization that has a similar ideology to that of ISIS, has been outlawed. However, the organization is operating and thriving in East Jerusalem. Channel 2 News discovered last week that throughout the current terror wave, many East Jerusalem residents have been listening to the speeches delivered and sermons preached by Hizb ut-Tahrir members.
Many of the sermons focus on the Temple Mount. “The Jews are forbidding [Muslim] worshipers from ascending it,” said one of the organization’s leaders. “[The Jews] are destroying it.”
In light of Channel 2 News’ report that revealed the activities of the organization in East Jerusalem, MK Yehuda Glick (Likud) contacted the Israel Police on Friday and requested that the organization be investigated for incitement.
The Channel 2 News report showed that the organization conducts study groups for young Muslim men and women during which the leaders incite hatred and violence against Jews and call for the establishment of a caliphate. In addition, the leaders encourage the young Muslim men and women to become terrorists.
