Today (Monday), an envelope with fake explosives was sent to a senior-level IDF officer responsible for the recruitment of Haredi Jews. The officer’s wife, residing in Beit Shemesh, received a letter with the word “revenge” written on it and wires sticking out of the edges. She called the police who made sure that the package contained no dangerous materials.
The police opened an investigation into the matter and explained that it was a serious threat to Major Yaakov Rashi, Head of the Yeshiva Students’ Desk. This isn’t the first time that an IDF officer is threatened as a result of his position.
After the police examined the package, it was transferred to a forensics laboratory in an attempt to locate the person who sent it.
