An IDF soldier collapsed on Saturday evening during a drill in southern Israel. He was evacuated via a helicopter to a hospital in critical condition. The circumstances of his collapse are being investigated.

The initial investigation revealed that the soldier, who serves in the Bedouin Desert Reconnaissance Battalion, apparently suffered a heat stroke near the Har Keren military base in the Negev.
