IDF attacked a Hamas observation post in northern Gaza after a rocket was fired towards Israel on Thursday night. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit clarified in a statement that it views the Hamas terrorist organization as solely responsible for everything that occurs in and from the Gaza Strip.

A rocket was fired towards Israel on Thursday night from the Gaza Strip and fell in open territory. No injuries were reported.
The rocket was launched towards Israel around 11:30 PM and the Red Alert siren was not sounded. Security forces scanned the area and no rocket remnants were found. In response to the fire, IDF forces attacked a Hamas observation post in northern Gaza. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement that it views the Hamas terrorist organization as solely responsible for all that occurs in the Gaza Strip and everything that goes out of it.
Tensions have been high in southern Israel recently. On Thursday, Israeli security forces apprehended four Palestinians after they crossed into Israel from Gaza carrying knives and a grenade. The suspects were taken into questioning.
On Monday, a Red Alert siren was sounded in towns near the Gaza Strip border in southern Israel. Residents reported sounds of explosions in the area. No casualties or damage were reported.
Since US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, dozens of projectiles have been fired from Gaza at Israel. Some of these landed in southern Israel while others were either intercepted by Iron Dome batteries or fell in Gaza.
