As 10,000 Palestinians continue to protest in five different locations along the Gaza security fence, the IDF reported Friday that it had foiled several Palestinian attempts of Palestinians to cross the barrier fence into Israel. Meanwhile, burnt tires continued to generate clouds of black smoke in the area and protesters threw Molotov cocktails and other explosive devices at the security fence.
“Over the past hour, rioters have attempted to damage & cross the security fence under the cover of smoke from their burning tires,” the IDF Spokesperson’s said in a statement. “They also attempted to carry out terror attacks and hurl explosive devices and firebombs.”

“IDF troops thwarted the infiltrations,” the statement continued, “and are responding with riot dispersal means, including water cannons to put out fires, a huge fan to disperse the smoke, and fire in accordance with the rules of engagement.”
