About 40,000 Palestinians are taking part in violent riots along the Gaza Border in more than 10 locations. According to IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Ronen Manelis, while Hamas had hoped for a larger turn-out, the degree of violence being used by the protesters is “unprecedented.”
Gaza’s Hamas-run Health Ministry is claiming that 41 protesters were killed by IDF fire and over 500 were injured. Meanwhile, the IDF has confirmed that Israeli fighter jets attacked five Hamas targets in northern Gaza “in response to the violent acts carried out by Hamas over last few hours along the security fence.”
