As of the next recruitment period, IDF combat soldiers will enjoy new equipment including upgraded fighting gear in addition to what they received until now. In addition, the recruits will receive special cards to purchase personal items.
The IDF started a project that will supply each soldier new and upgraded equipment in accordance with his tasks and assignment. The distribution of equipment will be evaluated following the training phases of basic and advanced training. The equipment will belong to the soldier and won’t be replaced with every transition. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that the project is an investment worth tens of millions of shekels.
The set will include all the equipment that has been received until today. In addition, the soldiers will receive personal working clothes, a softshell jacket, a 3-litter drinking bag, an infantry helmet with camouflage covering, protective eyewear, a personal combat application tourniquet and an equipment bag. Special units will also receive fighting uniforms. The IDF stated that in 2017, 200 million shekels will be invested in the equipment sets.
