In light of the 2 attempted terror attacks and 3 terror attacks that were carried out over the weekend, the IDF decided to increase its presence in the West Bank. In accordance to this decision, an additional battalion from the Kfir Brigade will be deployed to the region. Today (Saturday), head of the IDF’s Judea and Samaria Division Brigadier-General Lior Carmeli toured the locations where the terror attacks took place in order to assess the situation from the field.
During his visit, Carmeli heard from senior-level IDF officers who are stationed in the area. For the last 24 hours, IDF forces have been surrounding the Palestinian town of Bani Na’im. The terrorists who committed the ramming attack at Elias Junction near Kiryat Arba yesterday were from the town. The residents of the town are only allowed to leave for humanitarian reasons.

It was reported yesterday evening by JOL that despite the series of terror attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank, Israeli Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan said that the government succeeded in suppressing the terror wave. “The facts and graph indicate a downward trend,” said Erdan during an interview with Channel 2 News.
“We base this on facts,” said Erdan. “There has been a dramatic decrease in the number of terror attacks. The State of Israel is leading in how it is dealing with the terror attacks and has been able to suppress this terror wave.”
