An Israeli tourist was killed yesterday (Monday) in a car accident in India’s Spiti Valley area, between the towns of Manali and Leh. It was initially reported that 36-year-old Adva Ben-Dahan was injured along with a group of three other Israelis. However, it was eventually announced that she did not survive the accident.

One of the injured Israelis is in critical condition. The Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry is working on transferring Ben-Dahan’s body back to Israel and has notified the families of the injured tourists of their condition. Israeli consul in Delhi Eli Sneh arrived in the Kullu valley area where the injured tourists are being treated and is working on getting them transferred to a hospital in New Delhi before receiving clearance for them to return to Israel.

The accident occurred when the group’s vehicle went off a dangerous mountain road and rolled down a slope. The PaspportCard insurance company said that two of the tourists in the group are insured by the company and that they sent a paramedic on their behalf to India to assist the injured.
