Just a day after U.S. President Donald Trump spoke out against Iran during a joint press conference at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Iran is responding by calling Israel the “largest threat to international security.”

After Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, the Iranian Foreign Affairs Ministry claimed that Israel is the “largest threat to international security.” The ministry said: “The Zionist regime poses a danger to the region and international peace by having hundreds of nuclear warheads in its arsenal.”
Tehran clarified that it rejects the statements Trump made during his joint press conference with Netanyahu. Iranian Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi was quoted by the Iranian news agency Tansim condemning Trump’s stance on Iran.
“The bitter irony is that these baseless accusations are beneficial to the Zionist regime that doesn’t abide by international law,” he added. “The baseless accusations against Iran contradict the International Atomic Energy Agency’s reports, which confirmed the non-violent nature of Iran’s nuclear activities.”
During the press conference last night, Trump said: “One of the worst deals I’ve ever seen is the Iran deal. My administration has already imposed new sanctions on Iran and I will do more to prevent Iran from ever developing – I mean ever – a nuclear weapon.”
