Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Hossein Salami hailed the advances made by the IRGC Ground Force’s Airborne Division in overhauling and modernizing military equipment.
The IRGC Ground Force’s Airborne Division has achieved self-sufficiency in manufacturing components, modernization and overhaul of aircraft, Salami said during a visit to the Division’s Fath Base.
He further highlighted the major role of the IRGC Ground Force in ensuring security in the country and said the Airborne Division’s backup for the land forces is of great significance.
Salami went on to say that the Airborne Division units’ preparedness is in a very good state like that of other Ground Force units.
Iran maintains that its military capabilities pose no threat to regional countries, stressing that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence. Reportedly, Iran has made headways in manufacturing a broad range of weapons systems.
