The Iranian Shan School forced elementary school girls to burn hijabless Barbie dolls because “it is a symbol of the West.” The girls were asked to play with dolls wearing hijab instead.
According to the Clarion Project and the Iranian Facebook page My Stealthy Freedom, the Islamic Republic of Iran recently broadcast female teachers dressed from head to toe in black while wearing the Iranian chador forcing elementary school girls to burn hijabless Barbie dolls because “it is a symbol of the West.” The Iranian Shan School after burning the Barbie dolls with the children gave the girls dolls wearing hijabs to play with.
My Stealthy Freedom reported that the parents noted how the Islamist regime indoctrinates fear in their children by compelling them to wear ultra-conservative Islamic dress from an early age. According to the Clarion Project, young Iranian girls and women must wear full Islamic hair covering while in public throughout the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In response to this incident, Iranian human rights activist Shabnam Assadollahi referred to the Iranian regime as the “Shia ISIS” for “encouraging elementary school girls to chant Death to America while burning their dolls without a hair cover. This is the regime that the liberal government in Canada wishes to restore political dialogue with.”
