The head of Lebanon’s Supreme Islamic Shiite Council Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan has said that any agreement or deal, which seeks to normalize any type of relations with Israel was religiously forbidden and legally null and void.

“Such deals only pursue the aim of liquidating the Palestinian issue,” Qabalan told Iranian based Press TV on Sunday.

Qabalan called on the Arab countries to completely cancel and revoke the normalization agreements recently signed with Israel and appealed to the Muslim nations to launch an all-out boycott of Israeli goods to counter Israel’s interests in the region.

On September 15, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain officially signed US-mediated peace agreements with Israel during a ceremony at the White House. Bahrain and the UAE became only the third and fourth Arab nations to normalize relations with Israel, after Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994.
