It has been released for publication today (Tuesday) that one of the Iron Dome batteries that were deployed across central Israel has been stationed in Gush Dan, also known as the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area. The move is being conducted as part of the IDF’s reinforcement efforts against the Gaza Strip following the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s (PIJ) threats in response to the terror tunnel strike, in which two senior-level Hamas terrorists were eliminated.
As reported yesterday by JOL, the PIJ responded to the IDF Spokesperson’s threats stating, “The threats of the occupation do not scare us, and they express the fear of the response of the Jihad and the resistance. They are a declaration of war and we will act against it.”
The IDF has increased security around the construction work currently being done on the security barrier along the Gaza Strip, including reinforcements of special forces. The IDF wants to prepare a quick response in the event that the Islamic Jihad decides to act and also to enable the work on the barrier to continue.
