For the past three days, Baghdad has been hit with a wave of deadly car bombings. At least 48 people were murdered today when a car bomb exploded in the southern part of the Iraqi capital city.

At least 48 people were murdered and dozens more were injured when a car bomb exploded in Iraq’s capital city today (Thursday). ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack in an online statement.

The car exploded next to several car dealerships in the Shi’a area of the Bayaa neighborhood in the southern part of the city. Iraqi officials have reportedly stated that the car dealerships were the target of this attack.

This was the third car bomb to explode in Baghdad in the past three days. At least 18 people were murdered in a car bombing yesterday that targeted car dealerships. On Tuesday, four people were murdered in a car bombing in the capital city.
