ISIS leveled a direct threat at the upcoming World Cup, which is to take place next summer in Russia. In an apparent attempt to frighten soccer fans and players, the murderous terrorist organization released a propaganda poster featuring Barcelona’s Lionel Messi crying a tear of blood from behind bars.
The latest propaganda image was released after ISIS published a poster of an armed terrorist standing near a soccer stadium in Russia with a chilling message: “I swear that the Mujahideen’s fire will burn you… just you wait.” It appears that the threats from ISIS against the World Cup are a response to its defeat in recent battles in Syria and Iraq.

The World Cup games will take place in June and July of next year in 11 cities in Russia. In April, ISIS carried out a terror attack in Saint Petersburg, Russia’s second-largest city. 14 people were murdered in the attack.
Earlier this month, ISIS released another propaganda poster featuring pictures of Trump and Putin as shooting targets in an attempt to encourage its supporters to carry out attacks against the two leaders.
