Several hours after the liberation of Mosul, new testimonies of life under ISIS’ control are being revealed. The city’s residents explained how the terrorist organization ruined their lives.
Yesterday (Sunday), Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi declared victory over ISIS in Mosul. While celebrations continue, new testimonies from citizens who suffered under the terrorist organization are emerging.
One such example is that Mosul citizens were locked up in their homes to be used as ‘human shields’ for senior-level ISIS terrorists. They were starved so that they would not have the strength to rebel. “They ruined our lives,” one Mosul resident said. “We were thirsty, hungry, there was no bread and water was only found in dirty wells.”
Just before the operation ended, Iraqi intelligence found two Iraqi Yazidi girls who had been kidnapped from their families and spent the last three years under ISIS.
