Tens of thousands of people will participate in the Jerusalem Day flag march on Wednesday. This evening, the state ceremony will take place on Ammunition Hill with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in attendance.

The flag march is an annual event and will begin at 4:30 PM. During the march, participants sing and wave Israeli flags. The march will end with a celebratory ceremony at the Western Wall.

This morning, the left-wing Ir Amim organization submitted an emergency petition to the Israeli Supreme Court against the Israel Police’s decision to allow the route of the march to pass through East Jerusalem. In the petition, the organization claimed that the “unusual route that was approved this year for the parade will for the first time completely paralyze the residents of the Muslim Quarter.”
