  • Security cabinet unanimously opposed to Iran deal
  • Missing Israeli found, kidnapping revealed as hoax
  • Former president Moshe Katsav released from prison for Passover leave

A Security Cabinet meeting was called by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Friday to discuss the statements made last night in Lausanne, according to which Iran and the world powers have reached a basic framework for a nuclear deal. A statement at the end of the meeting said: “The Cabinet is united in its opposition to the agreed upon terms.” Netanyahu said that the deal would legitimize Iran’s nuclear program, bolster Iran’s economy and increase Iran’s aggression and terror throughout the Middle East and beyond. Meanwhile thousands celebrated in the streets of Teheran and foreign minister Mohammad Zarif was accepted with cheers.

22-year-old Niv Asraf from Beersheba was found alive and well Thursday night in Kiryat Arba, after eight hours of relentless searches by Shin Bet, IDF and police forces. Preliminary investigation reveals Asraf staged his own kidnapping in an attempt to get back together with his ex-girlfriend by causing her to worry for his safety. Both Asraf and a friend who assisted him have been arrested.
Former Israeli President and convicted rapist Moshe Katsav was released from prison for a 72-hour holiday leave Friday morning. While exiting the prison gates, accompanied by his wife Gila and several others, he refused to talk to the press standing outside. This is the first time Katsav will be spending Passover with his family since the beginning of his prison term in 2011.
