MK Yoel Hasson (Zionist Camp Party) is planning to propose a legislation according to which a prime minister who committed a felony will be forced to resign when an indictment is filed against him.

Ironically, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud Party voted in favor of the same legislation during former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s term in office, while he was under investigations.

Hasson will file the proposal immediately after the return from the Knesset’s Summer recess. The Winter Session is expected to include many attempts to embarrass the sitting government by the Opposition and claim that is incapable of functioning under the Netanyahu’s investigations.
