Rafael will present its impressive Drone Dome interception system at the Paris Air Show, which is currently underway. The system is capable of identifying and destroying hostile drones.
Watch: Rafael’s breakthrough technology in action
On Tuesday, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems unveiled its new system that is capable of neutralizing hostile drones. The Drone Dome interception system uses laser beams in order to identify and destroy the drones.
Rafael’s system, which can detect drones from kilometers away, is considered the first of its kind in the world. The system is equipped with radar and laser systems, which enable it to neutralize and destroy the hostile drones. In addition, the breakthrough technology includes a system that disrupts the radio communication between the hostile drone and its operator.

Over the past few years, drones have become a serious threat because of their abilities to invade all aerospace, take photographs and even trigger explosives. The innovative system will be presented for the first time at the Paris Air Show.
“The drone and the flocks of drones threat is one of the most complex challenges that have developed recently,” a senior Rafael employee familiar with the project said. “We see that ISIS and other groups are using [this threat] and the whole world is looking for solutions. We took laser capabilities that Rafael developed and adjusted them to deal with the threat that has become a challenge for all the defense systems in the world.
