After Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that he didn’t remember that a decision was made regarding the Qalqilya expansion plan, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman stated that the subject was brought up.

Today (Monday), Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lierberman discussed the plan to expand the Palestinian city of Qalqilya, a plan that has sparked criticism among right-wing parties and leaders of the settler community.
“I can say with full responsibility: the issue was raised in the cabinet meeting,” he said in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements. “Contrary to what everyone is saying, the great advantage of the cabinet is that everything is recorded and transcribed.”
“The construction is on private Palestinian land inside the city,” Lieberman explained. “Although it is in Area C, no Israeli ever goes there. The planning begins only after approval, and the planner – after approval from the cabinet – transferred a document that is not secret, stating that even though the maximum capacity is 14,381 apartments, a realistic plan is 6,187 apartment units.”
