Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director-General Dr. Dore Gold announced his resignation today. In a letter to the Israeli Prime Minister, he wrote: “I thank the Prime Minister for having faith in me and I will continue to make myself available for any future assignments.”

Israeli Foreign Affairs Ministry Director-General Dr. Dore Gold announced today (Thursday) his resignation. Gold informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is also the Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister, about his decision. Gold says that he is resigning due to personal reasons. Gold has been serving as director- general since June 2015 and has been working with Netanyahu for 25 years.
“I thank the Prime Minister for having faith in me and I’ll continue to make myself available for any future assignments,” said Gold. “During my term as Director-General, I’ve reached a personal and professional peak as I served on the diplomatic front of my country.”
Gold added that he’s grateful for the professional and devoted employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “During my job as director-general under the leadership of the Prime Minister, our foreign relations flourished,” added Gold.
