The Israeli government is expected to approve a compensation package for Amona residents as the evacuation date continues to approach. According to the proposed package, each family will receive compensation reflecting the amount of money its property is worth. It is estimated that each family could receive up to half a million NIS.
After the revised Regulation Law without the Amona clause passed its first reading, the residents of the outpost increased their efforts to thwart the evacuation. On Thursday, dozens of Amona residents gathered outside of the Israeli Supreme Court in order to protest against the evacuation.
