Yesterday (Thursday), Israeli MK Erel Margalit met with Palestinian National Authority senior-level official Jibril Rajoub and warned against an escalation due to the Palestinian security prisoners’ hunger strike. Today, Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan responded harshly to the meeting and the two argued over Twitter.
Erdan stated that Margalit “is apparently not a sane left-wing Israeli,” while the latter called Erdan a “Minister of escalation and fictitious arson.”

The Public Security Minister wrote: “Erel Margalit met with someone trying to boycott us (Rajoub) and together they attack the Prime Minister and myself and support terrorists who killed hundreds of Israelis. Proud of being left-wing?”
Margalit quickly responded: “I suggest that the Minister of escalation and fictitious arson Erdan doesn’t disturb the person who is trying to solve the problems which he created. You forgot to blame me for supporting ISIS…I operate for the public, I don’t take instructions from you.”
